A misspent youth.
This game hails from the dark days when almost no one had even heard of Macs, and almost no decent games were out for it. Boom was a haven for those of us kids who had parents who bought the first macs when they came out and have only allowed macs in their house since. It's upbeat music and excellent color scheme combined with simple graphics makes boom a pleasure for the players and anyone who wants to sit and watch. The gameplay is simple but engaging, requiring fast-thinking and fast hands, rather than years of experience using a keyboard. This game is just simple fun, with no mind bending puzzles or frustrating individual challenges. In fact there is only one challenge, see how far you can get. Almost 2 decades after I first played Boom I'm still enjoying it as much as any game out there for any system. Not many games can say that.
